About Us: Announcing the Good News, One Meal at a Time

I’ll be honest, our kitchen didn’t always look like this. For the first few years we were together, this room was a construction zone, then a sterile showroom, then just another stop on the assembly line of our busy lives. We were so focused on building a future, the right careers, the right house, that our weeknight meals became joyless, efficient pit stops. Food was fuel, not fun.

Hello, I’m Stella, I’m 30. My favorite dance partner and the man who always knows the right song to put on is my husband, Owen, who’s 32. Welcome to Hungry Herald, our daily bulletin of delicious news.

The shift happened on a particularly stressful Tuesday. We were tired, overwhelmed, and the silent dinner we were making was just another task on a long list. But then, something magical happened. The sauce came together perfectly. The pasta was al dente. It was, against all odds, a spectacular meal. The relief was so huge that Owen cranked up some music, took my hand, and we just danced. Right there, between the stove and the sink.

Why “Hungry Herald”?

That night, we realized we’d been missing the point. The meal wasn’t the end of the day; it was the headline. It was the good news worth heralding.

A “Hungry Herald” is the announcement that something delicious has arrived. Our blog is that announcement. Each recipe isn’t just a recipe; it’s a headline story from our lives. We’re not here to teach you complicated techniques. We’re here to give you the good news: that making dinner can be the best part of your day, a reason to turn up the music, a story worth reporting. The dance party is optional, but highly encouraged.

We created this for anyone who feels like their kitchen is just a refueling station. It’s for people who are hungry for more than just food, but for a little more joy, a little more connection, and a lot more dancing.

Meet the Heralds

Owen (32): The Music Director. He’s the one who sets the mood and instigates the celebration. He believes every good meal deserves a soundtrack and has never met a problem that a good playlist and a great pasta couldn’t fix.

Stella (30): The Editor-in-Chief. That’s me. I’m the one who writes the headlines, captures the stories, and turns our kitchen dance parties into the recipes you find here, so you can announce some good news of your own.

Thank you for reading our dispatch. We hope you find something worth celebrating.

All the best,

Stella & Owen
