  • 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 bell peppers, chopped
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Place beef, onion, and bell peppers in your slow cooker.
  2. Add diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and tomato sauce.
  3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours.
  5. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • You can adjust the chili powder and other spices to your preference.
  • If you like a thicker chili, you can remove the lid for the last hour of cooking.
  • This chili freezes well.
