Make a cafe-style Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Latte at home using a simple homemade brown sugar syrup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee or cold brew concentrate
  • 1 cup oat milk (full-fat recommended)
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Make the brown sugar syrup: Combine brown sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Do not boil. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. Brew your coffee or prepare your cold brew concentrate. Let it cool slightly if hot.
  3. In a tall glass, pour 2 tablespoons of the cooled brown sugar syrup (adjust to your taste).
  4. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  5. Pour the cooled coffee or cold brew over the ice.
  6. Top with 1 cup of oat milk.
  7. Stir well to combine the syrup, coffee, and milk before drinking.

Notes

  • For the best texture and flavor, use a full-fat or ‘barista blend’ oat milk.
  • You can make the brown sugar syrup ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  • If you use hot coffee, allow it to cool completely before assembling to prevent the ice from melting too quickly.
