Make sweet and spicy chicken bites using an air fryer for a quick, crispy snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water (slurry)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the cut chicken pieces in a bowl. Toss them with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
  3. Arrange the seasoned chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and lightly golden.
  5. While the chicken cooks, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, combine honey, Sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  6. Whisk the cornstarch slurry into the simmering sauce. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens into a glaze. Remove from heat.
  7. Place the cooked chicken bites into a large bowl. Pour the warm honey sriracha glaze over the chicken. Toss gently until all pieces are evenly coated.
  8. Serve the chicken bites immediately, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

  • For crispier bites, you can lightly dust the raw chicken pieces with a tablespoon of cornstarch before seasoning and air frying.
  • Adjust the amount of Sriracha to control the heat level for your preference.
  • If you do not have an air fryer, you can bake these at 400°F (200°C) for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway.
