Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken thighs and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  5. Pour the honey-garlic mixture over the chicken in the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
  7. Uncover the skillet and stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken, about 1-2 minutes.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, if desired.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • You can substitute chicken breasts for thighs, but adjust cooking time as needed.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with steamed rice or your favorite vegetables.
