Make this incredibly creamy and high-protein tuna salad in just five minutes using Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise. It is a perfect, low-calorie lunch upgrade for busy days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna in water, drained well
  • 1/2 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Open the tuna cans and drain all the water completely. Place the tuna in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the Greek yogurt, chopped celery, red onion, lemon juice, fresh dill or parsley, Dijon mustard, pepper, and salt to the bowl with the tuna.
  3. Use a fork to mix all the ingredients together until the salad is creamy and well combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Taste the salad and adjust seasoning if needed, adding more lemon juice or salt for your preference.
  5. Serve immediately on whole-grain bread, in lettuce cups, or with crackers for a fast, protein-packed lunch.

Notes

  • For a low-carb tuna salad, serve this mixture over a large bed of mixed greens or use large romaine lettuce leaves as wraps.
  • If you are meal prepping, store the salad in an airtight container for up to three days.
  • You can substitute cottage cheese for Greek yogurt for a slightly different texture and high protein boost.
