Follow this recipe to make moist salmon fillets coated in a rich garlic butter mixture and topped with a bright lemon garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • For the Lemon Garlic Sauce:
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the 4 tablespoons of melted butter, 4 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon dried parsley, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each fillet.
  4. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your fillets.
  5. While the salmon bakes, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the 4 tablespoons of butter.
  6. Add the 3 minced garlic cloves to the saucepan and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  7. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and the 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  8. Once the salmon is cooked, transfer the fillets to serving plates. Spoon the warm lemon garlic sauce generously over each piece of salmon.

Notes

  • For pan-searing, heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the salmon, butter-side down, for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown. Flip, brush with the remaining butter mixture, and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven for 6 to 8 minutes.
  • Asparagus or roasted potatoes pair well with this dish.
  • To check for doneness, insert a fork into the thickest part of the salmon; if it flakes easily, it is done.
