Ingredients
Scale
3-4 pound beef chuck roast
1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch seasoning
1 packet (1 oz) au jus gravy mix
1/2 cup butter
1 cup water
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
3-4 Yukon Gold potatoes, cut into large chunks
3-4 carrots, cut into large chunks
1 large onion, cut into wedges
Instructions
Place the beef chuck roast in your slow cooker.
Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
Arrange the butter pats on top of the roast.
In a bowl, whisk together the water, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder. Pour this liquid around the roast in the slow cooker.
Add the potatoes, carrots, and onion around the roast.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-6 hours, until the beef is tender and shreds easily.
Shred the beef directly in the slow cooker and stir to combine with the juices and vegetables.
Serve hot and enjoy the delicious results!
Notes
For an even more tender roast, you can add a splash of red wine to the liquid mixture.
Feel free to add other vegetables like celery or parsnips if you like.
This dish pairs wonderfully with crusty bread for soaking up the flavorful juices.
