Make rich, flavorful garlic butter quickly. This recipe creates a versatile spread perfect for bread, steak, pasta, or vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced finely
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the softened butter in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the minced garlic, salt, and pepper to the butter.
  3. If using, mix in the chopped fresh parsley.
  4. Use a fork or spatula to mix all ingredients together until they are fully combined and uniform in color.
  5. Transfer the mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap or parchment paper.
  6. Roll the butter into a log shape and twist the ends to seal it.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up before using.

Notes

  • For roasted garlic butter, roast 1 head of garlic until soft, squeeze out the cloves, and mix them into the butter instead of using raw garlic.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon of dried Italian herbs or a pinch of red pepper flakes for a variation.
  • If you need to use it immediately, you can use it soft as a spread without chilling.
