- 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon dry ranch seasoning mix (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon dried dill, 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper)
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for extra crispiness)
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
- Thoroughly dry the rinsed chickpeas. Pat them completely dry with paper towels. Removing moisture is key to crunchiness.
- In a medium bowl, toss the dry chickpeas with olive oil until lightly coated.
- If using cornstarch, sprinkle it over the oiled chickpeas and toss again until lightly coated.
- Add the ranch seasoning mix to the bowl and toss until the chickpeas are evenly seasoned.
- Place the seasoned chickpeas in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 15 to 20 minutes, shaking the basket vigorously every 5 minutes.
- Continue cooking until the chickpeas are golden brown and very crunchy.
- Remove from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving. They will crisp up more as they cool.
Notes
- For the best crunch, ensure the chickpeas are completely dry before adding oil and seasoning.
- If you prefer a stronger ranch flavor, add a small amount of extra seasoning after they finish cooking.
- Adjust the cooking time based on your air fryer model; check frequently after 15 minutes.
