Make crispy chicken tenders in the air fryer and serve them with a rich, homemade garlic parmesan dipping sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for coating)
  • Cooking spray
  • For the Dip:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Set up a dredging station with three shallow dishes. Place flour seasoned with salt, pepper, and paprika in the first dish. Place beaten eggs in the second dish. Mix panko breadcrumbs and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese in the third dish.
  2. Coat the chicken: Take each chicken strip and dredge it first in the flour mixture, shaking off excess. Dip it into the egg, letting excess drip off. Finally, press it firmly into the panko mixture to coat completely.
  3. Air fry the tenders: Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the coated tenders in a single layer, working in batches if necessary. Spray the tops of the tenders lightly with cooking spray.
  4. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C).
  5. Make the dip: While the chicken cooks, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Mix until smooth.
  6. Serve the crispy tenders immediately with the garlic parmesan dip.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, let the coated tenders rest in the refrigerator for 15 minutes before air frying.
  • If you do not have an air fryer, you can bake these at 425°F (220°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic in the dip to match your preference.
