Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1-2 serrano peppers, minced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
  2. Mash the avocado with a fork until it’s mostly smooth but still has some chunks.
  3. Add the chopped red onion, minced serrano peppers, chopped cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
  4. Stir gently until all ingredients are combined.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos and other dishes.

Notes

  • For a smoother guacamole, mash the avocados more thoroughly.
  • If you prefer a spicier guacamole, leave some of the seeds in the serrano peppers.
  • You can add a diced tomato for extra flavor and color.
  • Guacamole is best served fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning.
