Make perfectly crisp, sweet roasted nuts with this simple, five-ingredient recipe. These oven baked pecans are ideal for snacking or as holiday pecan recipe gifts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the egg white and water together until they are slightly frothy.
  3. Add the pecan halves to the egg white mixture. Toss them gently until all the pecans are lightly coated.
  4. In a separate small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon. This is your sweet crunchy pecans coating.
  5. Pour the sugar and cinnamon mixture over the coated pecans. Toss well until every pecan is evenly covered.
  6. Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Do not let them overlap.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring the pecans every 10 minutes. This stirring helps prevent sticking and ensures they get crispy.
  8. Remove the pecans from the oven. Let them cool completely on the baking sheet. As they cool, the coating will harden, giving you that desired snap.
  9. Once cool, break apart any clusters. Store your homemade glazed pecans in an airtight container.

Notes

  • For the best crisp texture, cool the pecans completely before storing them. Warm pecans will steam and become sticky.
  • You can substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds to make sweet spiced nuts.
  • These make excellent salad topper pecans or simple dessert recipes additions.
