Create a delightful fall snack with these easy Candied Cinnamon Pecans. They are perfectly sweet and spiced, making them an ideal treat for the season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large skillet, combine the sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to thicken into a syrup. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the pecan halves to the skillet. Stir them well to coat each pecan with the cinnamon sugar syrup.
  5. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, for another 5-8 minutes, or until the syrup thickens and starts to crystallize around the pecans. Be careful not to burn them.
  6. Spread the coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Let them cool completely. As they cool, they will become crunchy and separated.

Notes

  • For an extra festive touch, you can add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom along with the cinnamon.
  • Store cooled pecans in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
  • These make a wonderful edible gift!
