1 gallon apple cider
1.5 cups granulated sugar
1.5 cups light brown sugar
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon whole cloves
1 (750 ml) bottle of 100-proof unflavored vodka or neutral grain spirit
Instructions
In a large pot, combine apple cider, granulated sugar, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon sticks, and whole cloves.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Remove the pot from the heat and let it steep for another hour.
Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the spices. Discard the spices.
Allow the cider mixture to cool completely.
Once cooled, stir in the vodka or neutral grain spirit.
Pour the Apple Pie Moonshine into clean bottles and seal them tightly.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
For a stronger cinnamon flavor, add an extra cinnamon stick.
Adjust the amount of sugar to your preference.
