- 1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Press the tofu well to remove excess water, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
- In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until lightly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the coated tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd.
- Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the tofu is golden brown and crispy.
- While the tofu cooks, whisk together the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
- Once the tofu is cooked, transfer it to a clean bowl.
- Pour the glaze over the hot tofu and toss gently until every piece is coated.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Pressing the tofu for at least 30 minutes is key to achieving the best crispy texture.
- For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the tofu with cooking spray before air frying.
- You can substitute maple syrup for a portion of the sweet chili sauce if you prefer a sweeter glaze.
